This highly experiential, skills-in-action training strengthens core health and wellness coaching competencies through real-time practice, live demonstration, and supportive mentor feedback. You won’t just learn the concepts, you’ll apply them in structured peer coaching sessions with immediate, actionable guidance to deepen integration and build confidence.
With a strong emphasis on coaching presence, ethical engagement, transformative questioning, reflective listening, and scope of practice, participants actively refine their skills in a safe, growth-oriented learning environment.
Grounded in NBHWC Content Areas 1 (Coaching Presence, Relationships, and Sessions), 3 (Skills, Tools, and Strategies), and 4 (Ethics and Professional Practice), this training helps coaches cultivate authentic presence, strengthen relational depth, ask powerful, purposeful questions, and uphold clear ethical boundaries.
Participants leave with practical tools, personalized mentor insights, and a clear action plan for continued professional growth; ready to coach with greater clarity, skill, and confidence.
 Upon completion of this program, the coach will be able to:

Session 1
- Fundamentals of being present:Â Lecture and experiential exercise - 40 minutes
- Small group discussion - 20 minutes
Session 2
- Awareness practices that promote ethical client engagement - Lecture - 25 minutes
- Small group discussion - 35 minutes
Session 3
- Transformative coaching questions (when and how to use them): - Lecture - 15 minutes
- Participant poll (rate most challenging coaching situations) - 5 minutes
- Coaching presentation on challenging situation using transformative coaching questions - 25 minutes
- Q&A - 10 minutes
Section 4
- Coaching reflections: Lecture - 10 minutes
- Small group practice exercise - 20 minutes
Session 5
- Peer practice and live mentoring support: - Total of 1 hour
- Practice coaching sessions (3 peer practice coaching session @ 15 minutes each)Â
